In short, I have set three future goals for my life and I should achieve all of it. I think that being a good person for everyone is the important things in this life. Because we are a human. We can live without other people, so we need to respect each other and being a person who is liked of everyone. Therefore, I will concentrate on my first goal. As a result, without achieve the first goals, I think that I will incapable to attain the second and third goal.

Dear Me,

     This is an article I am writing to me, myself, with three future goals in it. I will open this article in four years and decide whether or not I have achieved these goals. The goals I have set for myself are to learn and speak English well and correctly, be a good person for everyone, and graduate as soon as possible. Let’s look at why I chose these goals and steps to take my three goals.

     First of all, my goal is to be a good person for everyone. As the Great King of Thailand from June 9th, 1946 until October 13th, 2016, Bhumibol Adulyadej said “A good person can make another person good; it means that goodness will elicit goodness in the society; other persons will also be good.” In order to achieve this goal which is be a good person, I will help my friends when they need a help. For instance, help them to finish the assignment, teach the business mathematics subject, and else. Then every day, I will come to the class on time or before lecturers. Also right now, I would respect each others without depend on religion, race, skin color or culture and background.

     Secondly, I would like to learn and speak English well and correctly. According to Wikipedia, right now, one of the most widely spoken and fastest spreading world languages today is English, which has over 900 million first- and second-language users worldwide. It is estimated to have as many as 600 million second-language speakers, including anywhere between 200 and 350 million learners/users in China alone, at varying levels of study and proficiency, though this number is difficult to accurately assess. Because of that, we need to know even speak English very well. Every day I will try to speak English at all times as well as possible. This month, I plan either to study hard in English 1 and English 2 subject and get a good score. Furthermore, I will not afraid to talk with foreigners and lecturers.

     The last but not least, I want to graduate as soon as possible. Many people include my boyfriend said, “Gloria, you have to study hard in order to rapidly passed and immediately find a job. Therefore, you can make your parents proud of you.” Actually, in order to achieve this goal, I enter to President University because when I studied at University President, I have a greater opportunity to graduate as soon as possible. In addition, it will be supported with study hard, being a good students and also do the assignment on time. My plan for next year, I will study harder, respect more to the lecturers, and never be late to submit the assignment.

     In short, I have set three future goals for my life and I should achieve all of it. I think that being a good person for everyone is the important things in this life. Because we are a human. We can live without other people, so we need to respect each other and being a person who is liked of everyone. Therefore, I will concentrate on my first goal. As a result, without achieve the first goals, I think that I will incapable to attain the second and third goal.

Thesis : I strongly believe about this motion which is lecturers are responsible for motivating students to learn

Argument 1 : Basically, motivating each other is obligated for all people not only the lecturers

Argument 2 : Lecturers are one of trained professionally to motivate people especially their students

Argument 3 : Lecturers should make the balances between assignment and motivation to students

Counter Argument : Many people think that motivation from lecturers is not effective because the college student is a mature person

Conclusion : One of the job of  lecturers is obligated or responsible to give any motivation to their students especially to learn


Essay

    Have you ever thought that nobody else gives you motivation to study in this university? Lecturers play a very important role in our lives. Some people believe that the lecturers responsible for motivating their students to learn are not so compulsive. However, I strongly believe in this motion in which the lecturers are responsible for motivating students to learn because all people should motivate one another. And the lecturers have to professionally motivate their students and make the balances between giving an assignment and providing the students with motivation.

      Firstly, I think that motivating another person is obligated not only for all people but also for the lecturers. In fact, in every single day when we talk to one another and want to make other people happy or spirited, we have to motivate them with our kind words that will in turn make them interested in doing something. As we know, not only the motivator but also the lecturer are obligated to motivate. The lecturers have to be responsibile for making their students interested in the subject that will be taught because an educator as a human being has to motivate other people. For instance, when you are an extrovert who needs other people and attends a university and there is a subject that you do not like, you, in my opinion, need a person who will motivate you to study the subject, and the person should be your lecturer. Because your lecturer is someone who will be your "parent" in this university who is "more mature" than you are. Besides, according to my personal experience, I as an older daughter between two of us should motivate my sister to study well. Because as a human, I am obligated to motivate another person. In addition, my sister wants to study more than she did previously when I didn’t motivate her yet. Therefore, the educators which are lecturers should or are obligated to motivate the students to learn.

     The lecturers are among those professionally trained persons to motivate other people, especially their students. The second reason why I agree to this motion is that, as we know, the lecturers used to learn psychology at their colleges or universities in which psychological methods may become the effective ones to motivate the students. Indirectly, they play a role in motivating the students to learn because they had already learnt how to make students interested in their study, have them attend the class, and the like. For example, when you learn how to swim, you have to be taught by an expert swimmer. It is the same as when you are motivated by your lecturer because it is actually their job. You can get any motivation from another person, but the lecturers are responsible for motivating you because it is one of their jobs to educate the people. Based on my experience, 3 months ago, I was a fresh student of the President University. At the time, I joined the bridging program called "Matriculation" to improve my English skills. I was very stressed and bored to enter the class, because I realized that I was not good enough in English. Unexpectedly, the lecturer who taught that subject gave me motivation. And here I am. I am getting more and more motivated to learn English even though I know I have to learn it more. But the point is that the lecturers know our psychological aspects when we are not interested in something and they must motivate us because they really know our problems and other people’s problems. Consequently, we know that the lecturers have an ability to motivate the students well because it has been one of their jobs to motivate the students.

       The last but not least, the lecturers should make the balance between giving the students an assignment and providing the students with motivation. According to Matt DeLong and Dale Winter, Learning to Teach and Teaching to Learn Mathematics: Resources for Professional Development, Mathematical Association of America, 2002, it is stated that teachers or lecturers should give their students motivation. It is because that giving an assignment will not make students stressed about the assignment or the subject that an educator will present. By way of illustration, you are a college student. Sometimes, a lecturer will give you a lot of assignments with their deadlines. I think you will get stressed because of them. You need some motivation, especially from the lecturer who gives you the assignment. You can imagine when the lecturer gives you so many assignments without any motivation. For some students with a good or perfect GPA (Grade Point Average), it doesn't matter. How about the students with a low GPA? They will be doubly stressed. Even, I think they don't want to attend the class anymore. So, you need not only an assignment from the lecturers but also their motivation to make the balance. In my experience,  I had a friend with lower grades in her class. She was so stressed because of the grades but, at the same time, her lecturer always gave her motivation. Only by the motivation did she become more enthusiastic to study and didn't give up. Thus, I was made convinced by this topic because of such a reason.
     Many people think that a lecturer’s motivation is not effective because a college student is a mature person.  Personally, I realize that some people may believe that a mature person doesn't need motivation, especially from a lecturer, but the truth is that a mature person needs motivation too. We are humans who still need other people as our motivation. In the future when you become a parent, do you think that you don't need your parents to motivate you? I think you still need motivation from another person, such as your mother or father. It also applies to a college student. It doesn't matter how old you are, you still need motivation. 

     In conclusion, there is no doubt that lecturers should be responsible for motivating student to learn. One of a lecturer’s jobs is that she or he is responsible for giving his or her students motivation to learn. I believe that everybody still needs motivation; even, a student needs a lot of motivation from the lecturers.

Research Report

• Paragraph 2 : The type with the largest number of students in my class which is almost half the Management-2 is “Parent’s Wishes” type.
• Paragraph 3 : The “Confused” type is the second of the smallest number of students that have been choose
• Paragraph 4 : The second type with the largest number of students in Management-2 is “Egoist” type.

2.  Write a draft of the concluding paragraph for your composition. It can either summarize or evaluate the results, or it can predict the future. 

 

In conclusion, the “Egoist” people have the clear reason from their self, but what will happen to the “Parent’s Wishes” people or “Confused” people? Will they stay at President University to study, or resign from President University and change into the other college? I think that most of them will resign as my two-friend in Management-2 class because it is not their real reason and passion. It is just because of other person or perforce even if they want to stay and study at President University, I think that they will not be happy and peace.

 

The Reasons Why You Study at President University

     Why the people choose President University as their college? What actually the real reasons that make them to study at President University is? Is it because of their parents or the ability of President University itself? To find out the answer, I conducted a research and asked to each of my classmates what she or he reasons to choose President University as their place to study and live. After looking over their answers, I realized that there are three types of students in my class, Management-2. There are the “Parent’s Wishes” type, the “Confused” type, and the “Egoist” type.

     The type with the largest number of students in my class which is almost half the Management-2 is “Parent’s Wishes” type. When I asked them about the reason why them study at President University, they answer that obey to loyal with their parents is the first reason. Many students in President University say that they study at President University which is the international university in Indonesia because of their parent’s wishes. Actually, they have a college or university that they like to studied but because they love their parents, finally they choose President University.

     The second type with the largest number of students in Management-2 is “Egoist” type. There are so many students in President University says that, “It’s my dream university”, or “President University is the first choice college that I love because President University have a lot of benefit in the future”. Therefore, the reason why they study at President University is about their dream. 

     The “Confused” type is the second of the smallest number of students that have been choose. There are so many students in Management-2 class that study at President University because they are confused about the university that they want to study. They do not know where they going after graduation at the Senior High School. Therefore, in the others name, they study at President University because they confused about it.

     The third type with the smallest number of students in Management-2 is “Egoist” type. They say, “It’s my dream university”, or “President University is the first choice college that I love because President University have a lot of benefit in the future”. Therefore, the reason why they study at President University is about themselves. 

     In conclusion, the “Egoist” people have the clear reason from their self, but what will happen to the “Parent’s Wishes” people or “Confused” people? Will they stay at President University to study, or resign from President University and change into the other college? An Important Event in My Life

When My Beloved Father Dies

    

     Have you ever imagined about the end of the world? At the time finally I know how it's happened. The world was fallen down in front of me. Someone whom I loved in this world had disappointed me. I never thought that my father would pass away so fast, but he did, and that event changed me and my family completely. In this article, I will tell you about what my life was like before, why I decided to change, and what my life now is like.
    I am the older of two sisters. As an older sister, I found that I was scolded more often than my sister. My father used to say that I had to succumb because I was more mature. I was very upset to hear such an expression. I thought that my father loved my sister more than me. Therefore, I often cuddled up to my mother even for the slightest thing; for example, I used to ask my mother to help me take some food when I was hungry. I was not concerned at all with how they felt, what they thought, and what their problem was at that time. It was as if I had just wasted my time with my family. 
     Then one day, my father got sick. When he got really sick, he used to ask me to massage his feet. Sometimes I ignored his request because of my busy days at school but I did massage his feet. And I really recognized how my father had suffered from the pains because of his severe disease. I squeezed my mother gently and asked her what I had to do then. I also saw how she painstakingly cared for my father. My sister and I had to be independent. I didn't want to add to my parents’ burdens with my spoiled attitudes any longer. So, a few times I  did some homework just as my mom used to do. One year later, my father actually passed away. My family suffered for a long time and my family’s income decreased. My mother found it difficult to pay for my school fee and my sister’s school fee. Usually, my father used to teach when he wanted to arrange a school examination, and it was already gone. Therefore, at that trying period of time at my school, once my rank declined. It seemed there had been no hope anymore. However, I was encouraged by my family and close relatives. And my family eventually started to bounce back. 
    From then on, I have become independent. I have learned how to tell anyone else not to take food or clean up the bed. I have bounced back from previous adverse conditions. Then again, I got back the best rank at school. I have learned to love my family more than anything in this world. Since then, our family has become stronger than it was beforehand. It seems to me that there is no problem in this world that cannot be solved. Thank you my father. You have left something that can never be exchanged by even a diamond or whatever it is. Love your family.
